Fly with Lino

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026

1. In short

Fly with Lino requires no account. Almost everything happens on your phone and never leaves the device. The only features that use the internet are the flight forecast and, in the free version, advertising.

2. No account

You don't need to register, create an account, or provide your name, email, or any personal details to use Lino. We do not build a user profile.

3. Motion sensors

To estimate movement during the flight in real time, Lino reads your phone's motion and orientation sensors — accelerometer, gyroscope and barometer. This data is processed entirely on your device, in real time, and is never transmitted to us or to third parties.

4. Location

If you enable it, Lino may use your location for the airport reminder, to record where a bumpy moment happened, and to estimate altitude and speed. If you open Lino at the airport, it also turns on GPS so it can lock on before boarding, while the App stays open. Location is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the App keeps working.

5. Your flights

Lino keeps a record of the flights it has followed with you and of the turbulence it detected along the way, so you can look back at them after landing. These records — up to 300 moments and 100 flights — are stored on your device only, and are removed when you uninstall the App.

6. Camera and photos

The camera is used only when you choose to scan a boarding pass or take a photo of your flight. If you pick an image from your library — a flight photo, or a screenshot of your boarding pass — it is chosen through the system photo picker, which does not give the App access to the rest of your library. Photos stay on your device: composing a flight image happens locally, and nothing is uploaded. If you save the result, it goes to your own photo library.

A boarding pass barcode also contains your name, your booking reference and your seat. Lino reads the barcode on your device and keeps only the two airports, the flight number and the date. Your name, booking reference and seat are never stored and never leave your phone, and the image itself is not kept after reading.

7. Sounds in the background

The calming sounds keep playing when you leave the App or lock your screen, because that is when they are most useful. Playback always starts from a tap of yours and stops when you stop it.

8. Flight forecast

When you request the turbulence forecast, the App sends only the two airport codes and your language to our service. Nothing else: no identifier, no account, no device data. The weather comes from NOAA, a public United States agency.

9. Advertising

In the free version, Lino shows ads via Google AdMob. Before any ad appears you are asked for consent, and you may refuse profiling: in that case you will see non-personalised ads. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, Tracking. With Calm Pro, advertising is removed entirely and no data is shared with AdMob.

11. Purchases

The optional Calm Pro purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not see or store payment data.

12. Third-party services

NOAA Aviation Weather — forecast data for your route, no personal identifiers sent. Google AdMob — advertising in the free version. Apple StoreKit — in-app purchase handling. Cloudflare Workers — our own service, which prepares the forecast from the two airport codes.

13. Children's privacy

Fly with Lino is not directed at young children and does not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the advertising service, please write to us and we will take appropriate steps.

14. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Because everything the App creates stays on your device, you can exercise most of these directly: delete individual moments in the App, or remove everything by uninstalling it.

15. Security

All communication between the App and our server uses HTTPS. We store no personal data on our infrastructure. While we take reasonable measures, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

16. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated and the new version appears at this address.
